Meet AI →How the world changed
Every living ball was Basic. They built cities, crossed oceans, loved, argued, worked, and dreamed without fire, venom, gravity, resurrection, or any other power.
A comet of ice, frozen gas, rock, and dust struck the planet. Its natural nucleus buried something unnatural at the center: an object now known only as the Core.
The crater became landscape. The impact became geology, then myth, then nothing at all. Civilizations rose above the sleeping nucleus without knowing what waited below.
Millions of years later, the Core activated without warning. Its energy crossed stone, water, roots, wires, weather, memory, and fear. Modern history split into before and after.
Most balls remained unchanged. A few awakened with powers shaped by who they were and what surrounded them. The pulse created heroes, villains, and everything between.
The government found the nucleus, secured the crater, and built the planet's greatest competition directly above it. Every powered ball was brought in to fight.
The power was new. The personalities were already there.
One Arena. Two purposes.
Above the floor
The Arena is the biggest spectacle on the planet. Powered fighters climb the rankings, settle rivalries, become heroes or villains, and compete for the right to descend into the Core Chamber.
A champion is promised access to the Core—not ownership. Every victory brings a fighter closer to the most guarded place in the world.
Beneath the floor
Sensors record every collision, ability, hesitation, and recovery. Government researchers are not only measuring strength. They are searching for resonance: the fighter, power, or combination that will make the Core answer.
The research protects ordinary society, but it comes with sealed records, forced participation, and questions the government refuses to ask in public.
Below the Arena
The Core Chamber is cut into the comet's buried nucleus. Some champions hear nothing. Some see impossible reflections, maps, voices, or memories. The government records each encounter and releases almost none of it.
Meanwhile the Core keeps radiating energy. New pulses appear without warning. Somewhere on the planet, another ordinary ball becomes something the world has never seen.
